My 13yr Old Was Wrestling Today And The Coaches Think

My 13yr old was wrestling today and the coaches think he broke his thumb around 1:00 today. He is on his way back from tournament and should be home in hour and half. Do I need to take him to emergency room tonight for X-rays or can it wait until Monday morning? My son says it hurts, can't move it, there is some swelling and bruising.
