My 14 Year Old Daughter Woke Up With Moderate Neck

My 14 year old daughter woke up with moderate neck pain on the right side of her neck. Having difficulty holding her head straight because of pain. Glands in her neck seem swollen. No sore throat, cough or any other flu or cold symptoms. She is also in dance and very physically active. She said the side of her neck is actually throbbing. Could it be something viral?
