My 14 Years Old Niece Had An Ultasound Of The

My 14 years old niece had an ultasound of the ovary after having abdominal pain. They found small cyst in her left ovary. Then she went back again for another ultrasound 1&1/2 month later after her period & the doctor found out that the cyst got bigger -7cm. She said it's a dermoid cyst & requiring immediate surgery. Is it possible to wait a few more months before having surgery so that she will not miss school?
