My 16 Year Old Daschund Has High Liver Enzymes -

My 16 year old daschund has high liver enzymes - he seems to be in slight discomfort - is it safe to give him metcam? He had back surgery when he was one year old, and had his gallbladder out when he was 13. He has a great appetite, and walks around the house quite a bit - he is deaf, but otherwise happy. Thanks!
