My 16 Yr Old Son Is About 3weeks Into A

My 16 yr old son is about 3weeks into a pretty severe concussion. We see the Dr every week. He is still experiencing a headache in the back of his head and having neck pain. Lastnight he had me feel on the base of his skull and could feel a strong pulse. Is that normal? He hasn'n seen a neurologist or had his neck xrayed neck x
