My 18 Month Old Had Labs Drawn 3 Months Ago

My 18 month old had labs drawn 3 months ago at his well baby check. Today he went in for his 18 month well baby check and his parents were told his previous blood work showed elevated Smudge cell. Info on Internet is very concerning. Blood work is being repeated. He is a healthy child. Doesnt have any signs of anything else. If it was something serious, why wouldn’t the docs office requested repeat labs 3 months ago?
