My 18 Year Old Son Is Running A Low Grade

My 18 year old son is running a low grade fever with lower back pain and vomiting. He got a small tattoo three days ago but it isn't red or painful. I don't know if i should take him to the er or not. Should i wait to see if medication will lower the fevet or what?
