My 2 Yr Old Granddaughter Swallowed A Button Battery While

My 2 yr old granddaughter swallowed a button battery while in my care, the grandmother. We took her to AI Dupont within an hour of swallowing and they could not get it as it was in a bolus of food. The GI doc scoped her and is "almost certain " it is in the food We now were told we have to wait for it to pass though and I am concerned that the breakdown of the battery will cause further harm . Since I know there is acid in stomach and knowing the battery can do harm I am wondering why we cannot doe more
