Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 20 month old grandson has had a chest X-ray and these are the findings: Generalised peribronchial wall thickening is present about both lung fields. Changes are slightly more marked on the right side where peribronchial inflammatory infiltrate is present but no significant consolidation is identified. No features of pleural effusions or pneumothorax can be seen. Cardiac and mediastinal contours appear normal. Opinion: There are features in keeping with "bronchitis" involving both lung fields but particularly at the lower lobes as described. Changes on the right side suggest early parenchymal infiltrate. He needs to fly out in 3 days to Bali. He has been prescribed erythromycin ethylsuccinate 200 mg (E-MYCIN 200) Please advise on his current medical condition and whether it will be advisable for him to travel. Thanking you Kevin
