My 3 Year Old Woke Up Yesterday To Have What

My 3 year old woke up yesterday to have what looks like a boil between her cheek and nose, a fever of 101.1 and said it burned when she went to the bathroom. I called my clinics nurse advice line and because was told to watch at home. But I just feel something needs attention. Any insight is this a uti and boil, can the two be connected? Is it herpes? How could she get it? As for her activity she just started gymnastics this past week and other than that pre-school.
