My 3 Yr Old Son Bit A Hard Plastic Straw

My 3 yr old son bit a hard plastic straw and it cracked. I was able to get him to spit out some of it but what he spit out didn't match the broken straw so I'm afraid he may have swallowed some of it. Hopefully it will pass but what should I look for if there is a problem
