My 44 Year Old Brother Just Had Major Surgery Friday

My 44 year old brother just had major surgery Friday night for the second time....due to an upper blockage of his stoma. He is retaining water in his ankles, testicles, legs, and waist and has prior to 1 day before his surgery on Friday...why is this please and when will it go away??!
