My 5 Yr Old Granddaughter Has Lately Become Obsessive About

My 5 yr old granddaughter has lately become obsessive about having her car seat exactly in a certain position in the backseat and becomes very upset if she can't have it that way. I am concerned that it may have something to do with the way her father, my son, treats her - he is very strict and authoritarian and spends about 70% of their time together correcting and lecturing her. My son also has no sympathy with this behavior and starts yelling at her.
