My 6 Year Old Is Taking Penicillin V (4 Times

My 6 year old is taking penicillin v (4 times a day) for nasty tonsillitis and is on 5 of the course. He is now complaining that his guns are sensitive and they bleed easily ehen I brush them (this has never happened before)
Could this be because of the penicillin?
