My 6 Yo Daughter Had Her Tonsils Removed Three Weeks

My 6 yo daughter had her tonsils removed three weeks ago. She's healed up nicely. However yesterday she started complaining of a very sore throat, stuffy and runny nose and has had a low grade fever. I've been giving her ibuprofen and liquids. She has been very tired and sleepy today . Would I be jumping the gun to take her to a doctor? Is it a common cold?
