Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 67 year old father in law had the TIPS procedure done on Tuesday and it was successfully done. Since the surgery he has complained of pain in his buttocks . We blamed it on being on the table for 6 1/2 hours for the surgery. He is still in the hospital and as I was helping him get into bed late Thursday night I noticed he actually had a butt. So I asked him if it felt strange and he said it felt swollen so of course I called the nurse into his room. His buttocks is as hard as a rock. The nurse had no explanation and had never seen this before. There is no redness.
