My 7 Year Old Son Suffering From Cough & High

My 7 year old son suffering from cough & high fever..can I give him ambrolite-d syrup already prescribed by doctor for my 3 year old who was having the same problem.
If yes, what should be the quantity..?? 3 year old was taking 2.5 50ml of the same.
