My 74 Yr Old Husband Has Acities Due To Liver

My 74 yr old husband has acities due to liver cirr. He has been in hospital twice in last 8 weeks with hepatic encephalopathy. The fluid keeps building in spite of dietritcs and low salt diet. The low salt diet is very difficult to do but we have made lots of changes to lower the salt. Cooking is a hugh challenge and we are trying. Is cutting back on salt really going to help much? He gets drained almost monthly and seems to be getting more frequent. What else can we do to slow the fluid build up down?
