My 78 Year Old Father In Law Gets Sudden "tingling"

My 78 year old father in law gets sudden "tingling" attacks, they go up thru his body, go to his head and he starts to hyperventilate and turn red. These attacks last from 30 to 120 seconds. It is terrifying to watch him suffer through this. His doctor recommended he see a psychiatrist. That didn't go anywhere.
