My 8 Month Old Granddaughter Has Had A Red, Round

My 8 month old granddaughter has had a red, round (not raised) spot on her check for a couple days. This afternoon, while she was sitting on the floor I saw her raise her head as if looking up at the ceiling and then slowly fell forward. Her eyes were high in the sockets but iris was still showing. My daughter in law said the same thing had happened twice this morning during breakfast. I will add that her older sister (now 33 months) had several incidents of what appeared to me to be absence seizures when she was younger. Other than telling the pediatrician, what should we be watching?
