My 85 Year Old Mother Had A Small Vessel, Back

My 85 year old mother had a small vessel, back of brain stroke 10 yrs ago, she is in a nursing home care and can no longer do any normal daily activities without assistance. She is type II Diabetic, has recurring UTI's and a pressure wound on buttock that will not heal. She is stating to have more and more dementia symptoms, including aspiration pneumonia . She is on nectar liquids and puréed foods. Is medication for Dementia needed?
