My 86 Year Old Mother Had A Bad Case Of

My 86 year old mother had a bad case of oral thrush 10 weeks ago. It took 4 weeks for it to go away. Now she is suffering from acute mouth pain. Ulcers on her tongue, each side. Dr. said not thrush. I suggested coxsackievirus, he said not certain . Cultured relvealed some bacteria growing, but no thrush or anything definite. She is miserable, in bed and not functioning as well as she usually does. Her breath is horrible. We are on day 11. She takes advil and swabs on Lidocaine in a viscous solution. Any thoughts what IM dealing with, and any other ideas for pain relief. Warm salt water has been done 11 days 2 x a day. Thank ULhummer8 Lynn
