My 89 Year Old Father In Law Had His 3rd

My 89 year old father in law had his 3rd pacemaker put in about 2 weeks ago. He took off the bandage, the lump is huge, much bigger than previous. Is this common? There are 2 incision lines, the surgeon told him 1st line had scar tissue so he had to make a larger cut.
