My 9 Yr Old Daughter Is On 3-.01mg Kapvay Clonidine

My 9 yr old daughter is on 3-.01mg kapvay clonidine tablets daily for ADHD. She has gained so much weight on it and I want to wean her off. How can I do this safely? I have asked her Dr. about the weight gain and she blew it off so I don't feel comfortable going to her to wean her off this medicine. Please help!
