My 90 Year Old Mom Has A Raised, Oozing, Black

My 90 year old Mom has a raised, oozing, black sore on her leg. It has progressively gotten larger after 8 weeks. The surgeon is removing it Tues and he told me it is stage 2 cancer. Will there be any other treatment for this, will it come back, how do we know if it has spread?
