Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 90 year old father suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his rt. leg today as a result of burning leaves. His pant leg caught on fire. He was seen in his primary physician's office and given an antibiotic, tetanus shot, cream to apply twice a day and instructions for dressing changes. Besides signs of infection, what other complications should we be monitoring for? ? fluid loss, dehydration, shock? edema of that leg? Thank you.
