My 92 Year Old Dad Is In A Nursing Home..

My 92 year old dad is in a nursing home.. 2 months since he broke an ankle.. He was anemic, has kidney disease. They stopped iron 3 weeks ago bc his levels were up. He has declined rapidly since off iron. HE is lethargic, wants to be in bed. He has stopped feeding himself, most foods he rejects either because of texture or nasty taste ( he makes shuddering faces). He will eat yogurt, ice cream usually and drinks nectar thicken milk and protein shakes with urging. WE have restarted iron 2-3 days, but don't know what else to do. When will the iron help? What can we do to help? I know he is old and has problems but this is sudden change/ decline. Thanks
