My 93-year-old Father Has Been Diagnosed With PAD, And Tests
My 93-year-old father has been diagnosed with PAD, and tests have shown poor arterial and venal circulation. He has congestive heart failure, stage 3 kidney disease, asbestosis, and is diabetic. He has ongoing leg ulcers (since July of 2015), and has been going to a wound clinic to treat those sores. Today his wound clinic doctor called to discuss angioplasty in his leg arteries tomorrow. This seems very risky for a man with so many other serious health issues, plus age, against him. My father has been confined to a wheelchair for the last nine months. Would the risks for him outweigh any potential benefits?
