My BP Is Around 145 /110 And I Just Consulted

My BP is around 145 /110 and I just consulted a doctor in my company and she has prescribed amlong 2.5 mg.. does this tablet has any side effects? Also I have been facing numbness in my left side of my body .. I guess it is due to high BP.. I'm planning to take up full check-up..
