My Doctor Said I Have HSV 2 >5.00. I Never

My Doctor said I have HSV 2 >5.00. I never had a genital outbreak and the only time I had to use valtrex is when it flared which was after my menstrual cycle because I bled so heavy and the pain would start at the bottom of my left foot, travel up my leg and outbreak on my left hip or side so how it it genital herpes if the pain starts at the bottom of my foot then travel to my left side? Also every since my gyn put me on the merana iud, I don't have heavy periods anymore and not outbreaks for over 9 years. Please explain this to is this a form of shingles or genital herpes
