My PM Dr. Has Tried Several Pain Meds For My
My PM Dr. Has tried several pain meds for my low back pain. For the past 4 years have taken dilaudid 2mg every 4 hrs. I now, for 4 mos on generic for exalgo 12 mg 1xday. I also take hydrocodone every 6 hrs for breakthrough pain.
I have told PM I'm now depressed, very low energy, anxiety, etc. What can I ask Dr. To prescribe to stop taking generic for exalgo since I feel is cause of depression. I'm so afraid of withdrawal symptoms since I experienced that going from 8 -2mg a day of dilaudid to 4 a day. That was before being put on the 24 hour exalgo ER (hydromorphone).
I had neck fusion 3 yrs ago and surgery on lower disc that ruptured leaving fragments on nerve root causing severe sciatic pain goes down right leg. I have scoliosis and spinal stenosis. Also told several discs with very little to no cushioning between. I am 68 yr female that worked until year ago even though I had alot of pain. What can I take to come off exalgo . It's just too much depression and still not 100% without pain.
