My R Knee Is A Mess, Bone On Bone ,

My R knee is a mess, bone on bone , and the word used to describe it is 'macerated'. I've been to a bone dr. (knee surgeon) and my choices are knee replacement ors live w/the pain. My calf hurts most of the time too and I forgot to ask him if that is from the knee. Is it? I had my L knee replaced 3 yrs. ago. Should I consult w/a arthritis dr. about my arthritis which is taking over, it seems, even my back.? thank You.
