My TSH LEVELS ARE 7.870 ( MY Dr. Has Prescribed

My TSH LEVELS ARE 7.870 ( MY Dr. has prescribed a Med for me , which I will p/u tomorrow,, Is this dangerous,, and are the Meds easy to swallow,, as I've had Vocal Cord Cancer in 2006,, Have been C Free since then,, Had Radiation/Chemo @ USC MED CNTR, IN 2006,,,) have some difficulty swallowing, and speaking ,,, Alot of Tightness in the neck,, Any Info ,, would be greatly appreciated , thnk you
