My Blood Pressure Is Elevated And Has Been Since Taking

My blood pressure is elevated and has been since taking medication (Nortryptilline) for nerve pain. Blood pressure was 161/96 at last check. I just had pre op appointment because I'm having surgery on my foot. I forgot to ask doctor if that level was safe going into surgery and will call tomorrow. To your knowledge, should these numbers be a concern going into surgery?
