My Boyfriend For The Past Few Days Has Been Experiencing

My boyfriend for the past few days has been experiencing constant fevers that just can't seem to go away even though he's been drinking panadol. Usually the fever returns after the panadol wears off. Also he's been diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and has a really bad cough, which the Doctor says, seems to be causing the fever. I'm just really worried about his fever. I've heard that a fever is the body's way of getting rid of something, would the upper respiratory infection and cough seem to be causing this constant fever? Please help. Your response will be greatly appreciated.
