My Boyfriend Has A Rash. It's Speratic Bumps That Starts

My boyfriend has a rash. It's speratic bumps that starts on his arms, moves up the back of the neck to the outer ears. It's mainly a concern on his right outer ear. It gets swollen and red with bumps on it. It itches like crazy. Looks like poison ivy but he's had it before and is fairly tolerant. This is driving him mad, he says it feels like his ear could pop.
