My Boyfriend Has Had (what We Think) Is Poison Ivy

My boyfriend has had (what we think) is poison ivy for over a month and now I am itching like crazy. How can we get rid of this? He has been using the pink lotion stuff but he still has it. I just itch to the point of scratching bruises but he has large patches in some areas. Do we need to see a doctor? He has no health ins.
