My Boyfriend Is 80 Years Old, Is Medicated For Diabetes

My boyfriend is 80 years old, is medicated for diabetes (pills, not insulin), high blood pressure, glaucoma, barretts esophagus, asthma, and the neurologist has found a total of 6 very tiny strokes have had only minor consequences (a little balance problem). He also has suffered from panic attacks and anxiety disorder since childhood and was probably ADHD. For the past several months, he has begun having headaches, many times all day, every day. He has a prescription for butalbital (fioricet) but on days like today, that is ineffective. He takes plavix, which precludes some pain meds. Oh, also he has been a recovering alcoholic (clean now for over 40 years) and is afraid of narcotic drugs. He describes his headaches as tightness in his forehead and above that area. I don't know how to help him.
