My Boyfriend Is Experiencing Some Confusion After He Quit Drinking

My boyfriend is experiencing some confusion after he quit drinking 3 weeks ago. He had a grand mal seizure about a month ago due to alcohol withdrawal. He's not "seeing things" or "hearing things" but I believe it's a form of vitamin B deficiency. He take a vitamin everyday to help....I guess my question is, is this a common symptom of someone experiencing withdrawal?
