My boyfriend started having panic attacks about 2 weeks ago. His major symptom would be that he couldn't breathe. I finally convinced him one day to get checked out. So he went to the hospital, where they gave him an anxiety pill and sent him on his way. A few days later, he started having panic attacks again. I then convinced him to get a doctors appointment. At the appointment, the doctor prescribed him buspirone. He was to take it twice a day. So, he got it the day it was prescribed, and took it twice. He was fine. He went to bed that night, and woke up the next morning unable to speak. When he tried to speak, nothing would come out, or it would be delayed and he'd stutter. He had set up and appointment at a counselling office since he's already on anti-depressants. The counselor told him that his delayed speech is from stress and anxiety, and we just have to wait to see if he comes out of it. I just wanted to get a second opinion. Is this true? Will he come out of it? Is he okay?
