My Boyfriend Was Drinking A Glass Of Milk And All

My boyfriend was drinking a glass of milk and all of a sudden he started choking and the milk came back up he could not breath. At all and then started to spit up blood the color was bright red. He has been doing this off and on for a while now even drinking water and other fluids. What can cause that to happen to him.
