My Boyfriend Was Driving And Started To Cough Really Hard

My boyfriend was driving and started to cough really hard it got to the point to where he couldn't get a breath his head fell forward he started to drool and his eyes looked like they were popped out of his head. What could this be? Should we be worried? Should we get him looked at? What can cause this to happen?
