My Boyfriend Was In A Terrible Auto Accident On Nov

My boyfriend was in a terrible auto accident on Nov 11. He had extensive internal damage and had his intestine and colon reconstructed and abdominal muscle repair. He was placed in a medical induced coma. He is breathing on his own but the ventilator is still placed in case they need to go in again. They are starting the process of waking him up today. What should I expect with that process and how long does it take.
