My Boyfriend Went To The Doctor Today And Was Prescribed

My boyfriend went to the doctor today and was prescribed Sulfamethoxazole(generic for Bactrim) for an infected ingrown toe-nail. We just now noticed that he has a very red, bumpy rash on the head of his penis. He's had this happen before. Could this just be a bad reaction to the Bactrim?
