My Boyfriends Dad Has Been Complaining Of His Body Itching

My boyfriends dad has been complaining of his body itching .He says that its a severe itch also. Two days ago he came home from the hospital, and that it didn't occur there. Its worse when he showers then lays under his covers in front of a space heater. what can i do for him and is there a basic home remedy.
