My Bp Has Been Running In The High 160's (top

My bp has been running in the high 160's (top number) in the morning, bottom number around 70, & my heart rate is around 60. I take metoprolol 25 mg. & bp comes down. Then by evening, bp is high again, & I take Amlodipine 5 mg., but it doesn't seem to bring it down. Should I be taking these both in the morning together? I didn't know if together they would lower my heart rate too much. I walk 3 miles/day, & I think that's why my heart rate stays low. thank you
