My brother had a colonoscopy - which I am surprised they did 4 months after having a whipple surgery/procedure, but it was booked before and he decided to keep the appt. Anyway, he's not good about communication, or body awareness or anatomy... but he said that he had no polyps, but he did have red spots that the GI did biopsies on. I've had colonoscopies (I have IBS), and have a friend that has had a ruptured bowel. (I have been her primary care giver and assisted in packing & cleaning of drains, etc. so I'm pretty comfortable with this talk, and familiar with a lot of the terminology but have never heard of 'red spots' - let alone biopsies on them. To be able to biopsy them, to me this says that they are more than inflammation, but I don't know - just guessing.
