My Brother Has A Problem In Losing His Hair In

My brother has a problem in losing his hair in his head.
He consulted a doctor and he gave a spray which is called Minoxin 5% plus and he used it for only 02 months and then he stopped it . He stopped it because there was no effect( no growth of hair) by using it. So can I know how long should my brother use it? And are there side effects in using it and is it good to use? And my brother is 24 years old and we consulted another doctor and he gave a medicine named Finasteride Tablets IP 1 mg . So can I know whether is it good to use or not?
