My brother is a diabetic (adult onset) on insulin. He presently has 3 kinds of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (MRSA, one in his blood and one in his colon). The doctors in the rehab place (while he's getting the IV antibiotics) don't know why his blood sugar is running very low (70s) and his blood pressure is in the 60/45 range. He's had problems with his blood sugar and blood pressure before (passing out because his blood pressure immediately drops) but they've not been able to figure out what's going on. His blood pressure was high - same with his blood sugar but even off the blood pressure meds it drops dramatically for no reason. He's still on insulin but is monitored and given only the smallest amount necessary. His blood sugar numbers were normally around 190 fasting in the morning so something's going on.
