My Brother Recently (3 Months Ago) Had His Left Kidney

My brother recently (3 months ago) had his left kidney removed as it had cancer. He has just now seen his Dr who has told him that since his surgery his right kidney has split into two. One part has fallen 6 inches down towards his pelvis. What are the complications or concerns when this happens. None of us really know about it, including my brother.
